Naturalisation for spouse with >450 days absence-Urgent

Post by mgrv » Sat Nov 23, 2013 11:25 pm

Hi

I came to UK on 24th Nov 2007 and my spouse and son on 16th Dec 2007.
Due to my son's medical problems she was in india for 16 months (3 months in 2008 and 12 months between April'2009 and March '2010).

She came back to UK in April'2010 and is living with me till date so we both got our ILR Nov'2012.. I've booked a NCS appointment both of us on 2nd Dec for Joint application.

She has spent more than 450 days in the last 6 years so would like to check whether she can apply for naturalisation considering that the absence is for the medical reasons..

Considering mine is a joint application if my application is approved first will they approve my wife's application considering that my applicaition is approved and she has stayed with me in UK for more than 3 years.

Appreciate your valuable inputs on this please.

Thanks

Are you aware that it is 450 days in 5 years before the application, not 6 years?

Thanks Jambo..recalculated the absence based on 5 years from application date and is 465 days outside UK.

Please advise.

Not an issue. Up to 480 days are normally disregarded.
