applying for citizenship but lost ILR card

Post by zedvolta » Mon Dec 16, 2013 2:26 pm

Hello,

I received my ILR card 2 years ago and would like to apply for naturalisation/citizenship but can't seem to locate the ILR card at home.

I have a photocopy but is the physical card itself actually necessary for the application?

Thank you
Zed

If you have lost your BRP then you need to report it lost, you are required by law to do so see here (click). A certified copy of the BRP can be used.
If you do not apply for a replacement permit, you may have to pay a financial penalty of up to £1,000, or we may curtail (shorten) your permission to stay.
