British citizenship English requirement

Post by Woj81 » Sat Oct 25, 2014 3:28 pm

Hello,

I need an advice about English language requirement to obtain BC.
My wife is a Mauritian citizen.Because Mauritius was once a part of British colony the education system is in English.Language of administration in Mauritius is English but native language is broken French creole. She has A level. On her certificate it says Cambridge because when Mauritian pupils sit to an exam it is send to England for an assessment.

Does she need to pass an English test for British citizenship even if her education up to 18 years old was in English?

She also has diploma in travel and tourism from London.

Please advise.

She'll need to take a B1 test. Only post graduate diplomas are accepted (those that require a degree). See here.
