Biometric Enrolment - when?

Post by FrustratedAnn » Sun Sep 27, 2015 9:18 pm

I am not sure when Biometric Enrollment should happen.

Guide AN page 13 says: "You must complete the biometric enrolment section of the application form. You will be issued with and enrolment letter, instructing you to make an appointment at a designated Post Office to have your biometric details recorded".

I have never received Biometric Residence Permit.

Does it mean that I tick:
NO to 6.1 "Have you been issued with BRP with a previous pplication to leave.
NO to 6.12 "have you had your fingerprints takes as part of previous UK immigration aplication made in the UK or abroad"
NO to 6.16,

and HO will send me "biometric notification letter" AFTER NCS sends my form to HO?

This is not in line with post office which told me that I absolutely need BRP before applying for citizenship.

Ignore the Post Offuce, they have no advertise in this area.

Under what criteria are you applying for Citizenship?
If youre an EU national you dont get brps anyway

Correct, Tick No in the boxes you mentioned.

And yes once you apply and they take payment, they will send you a letter requesting you to go to do ur biometrics at the Post Office and another thing, not all post offices do the biometric services. It also costs you £19.20

Biometrics enrolment happens after the naturalisation application is submitted to HO (whether submitted directly or via NCS).
You will be contacted by letter inviting you to enrol via a Post Office.

If, somehow, you have missed out on being issued a BRP in your previous settlement journey (up to now) then yes, respond to the questions as you have indicated.

Incidentally, why are you asking the Post Office about citizenship :?: :!:

Post Offices offer a passport Check&Send service but they are not qualified to speak on naturalisation (as NCS is).

In any case a vital prerequisite is settled status rather than a BRP;
(ie ILR, under UK Immigration Regulations or PR, under EU Rules);
- possession of a BRP just confirms ILR (for those issued with BRP).
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.
