Question about UK Citizenship registration

Post by kz777 » Thu Oct 22, 2015 6:37 pm

My daughter was born in the UK in 2013. I was recently granted Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK. I believe my daughter is now entitled to apply for the UK citizenship registration.

However, my daughter is now living in China with her grandparents. I believe I need to bring her back to the UK and then do the citizenship registration. However, she needs to apply for a type of visa to re-enter the UK. I was wondering which visa she could apply for. Could she apply for a short-term visitor visa to enter the UK and do the citizenship registration? Many thanks.

As per HO guidance your daughter has
... entitlement to register when parent/s become settled in UK or become British citizens
ie under Section 1(3) of BNA.

My understanding is you may register your daughter from abroad.
Hope that helps.
