british certificate name alteration

hi all,

is it possible to change/ add middle name on my british certificate once i finish my oat taking?

My application for BC is successful, just received it yesterday. However, on the letter from HO said that I have a new name --for in my BC application it 's just Given name - Axx
Surname- Lxx

and on my foreign passport Given name - Axx
middle name- Bxx
surname - Lxx

on my previous via's and even on my BRP card its just Axx Lxx ...every time im applying I am declaring my middle name which is not really my middle name its my mothers Maiden NAME but in our country its called middlename/maiden name. But Im placing it on "OTHER NAME " (from which you are known off). HO said on its letter--i need to change the name on my foreign passport for i will be needing it once I apply for british passport. The thing is im not sure if I can alter a request for my foreign passport---for mothers maiden name should always be included.

why does the HO did not correct me on my previous via's and BRP..y only now? They should have said in the previous year that my application name for BRP and passport doesnt match...

at the moment, I am waiting for my oat taking letter....do I need a the help of a solicitor for this?
