Tax related documentation

Post by tier1_again » Thu Dec 29, 2016 10:52 am

My citizenship application will be based on tier 1 (5 years) + 1 year ILR. This was from 2011 till date. I have got a combination of HMRC letters and P60s to provide as proof that I have paid taxes.

I had spent 3 years working in UK from 2006-09 and had paid all relevant taxes.Page 8 of AN guide asks to furnish proof for taxes paid in the last 10 years ( though my application is based on 5 + 1 years) which means I should be including the period from 2006-09. However, I do not have the P60s/payslips from this period anymore.
Is this likely to be a problem?

Regards

I have the same question. Does all P60 need to be original or computer print is OK ?

Requirements for BC application are separate from your prior immigration status

If you don't have the documents try and and put together as much detail as possible, including approximate dates, and explain. If the employer(s) is still in existence you may be able to obtain a letter from them confirming your employment.

NB. the point is not that we have paid taxes - economic activity is not a condition for BC. We are proving residency and it ties into the good character requirement as well.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.

The point is partly that those liable to pay tax have actually rendered unto Caesar as per the good character requirements for the privilege of citizenship.
HO will crosscheck and verify against all manner of government and other datasources.

Online statements or paperwork are unlikely to be given much weight as it is readily manipulated.
