Overstayer and good character

Got my Indefinite leave to remain and just read through good character and I overstayed my student visa which expired in 2010 but left for Kenya in 2012 and came back and have been on a spouse visa.
If I applied for citizenship, will my application be declined and will I have to wait till 2022 to make an application?
