BC Application Queries

Post by mick3 » Tue Apr 09, 2019 2:22 pm

Hi,

I applied for BC recently under 5 year route (ILR) and still need to go to UKVCAS for Biometric. My spouse is British.

In the application form, under names section I filled in my current name and my name before marriage (which is same as Birth name).

My old passport have my name mis-spelled (ABD XYZ) and I applied for correction and passport office issued new passport with correct spelling (ABCD XYZ). They didn't cut the old passport instead stapled both old and new passports to gather.

I never used that old passport anytime.
I entered UK with my new Passport (with name ABCD XYZ)
I always used new passport for all applications (EC, Visa Extension, ILR)
SAR data also showing only new passport details

Eg:
Current Passport Name, Name on Marriage Certificate: ABCD XYZ (first name, last name)
Previous Passport Name: ABD XYZ (first name, last name) with letter C missing in my name
Name at Birth and Before Marriage: ABCD LMNO

Now, the issue is I didn't mentioned about ABD XYZ (mis-spelled name) in any of my previous applications in UK (EC, Visa Extension, ILR) as I felt it was never my name and I never used it.

Do I need to mention that in additional details (as a scan copy) : My name was mis-spelled (ABD XYZ) in my old passport and I got it corrected in my new passport to ABCD XYZ ?

I am not sure if UKVI will take it as good character breach as I never mentioned it in my previous applications. Otherwise since UKVI didn't raise it in my past applications shall I ignore it.
