Thanks Simon, guess I have no option but to wait. If I do the settled status for EU citizens via the app now, does it help?secret.simon wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2019 1:05 pmThat is what I suspected. It is possible that that may be causing the delay.
The caseworkers in the nationality teams at the Home Office will not be trained in the niceties of EU law. They would have expected a DCPR/PR Card or a Settled Status update on their systems for one of the parents, not a bunch of work related documents that require further verification.
So it is likely that the application has either been pushed to the back of the queue or has been forwarded to the EEA Applications team for progress.
I suspect that other applications submitted with a DCPR/PR Card are the ones that you see being progressed faster than yours.
In effect, you have made not one, but two applications; one for the parent's settlement status to be verified and then the second for the child's British citizenship. We don't know how the Home Office works internally and where the application has landed now.
I haven't got the faintest clue if it will show up in their system. But there is no harm in trying. And it would make sense for both yourself and your wife to apply for Settled Status anyway.
