ILR status child Born in abroad

Post by ab04 » Fri May 01, 2020 11:23 pm

Hi Friends,

I have a question to clarify. I am expecting a baby soon. My wife went on leave back home for a month in end of February and got stuck up there. Now there is no way she can travel back to uk due to Covid19 pandemic. Myself and my wife both are holding ILR status here in uk. Now if my child born in India, what visa should apply for my child to bring back to uk ?

Please let me know. Thanks for your help in advance.

As both parents hold ILR, the child would be eligible to apply for ILE (Indefinite Leave to Enter); the same as ILR but issued abroad.

The child can apply to register as a British citizen when either one or both parents apply for British citizenship.
