Referee as an engineer

I would like to know if an engineer who is british national can be referee for naturalization application

It does say engineer (with professional qualifications) ... so what is the real defination of professional engineer qualification..

Is it someone who is working as an engineer in an engineering company
Or
Engineer with a further professional classification only like MIET known as chartered engineer same like as chartered accountant

So i am techincal manager. I hold electrical degree, working in a technical compnany so can i be a referee as i hold british nationality as well

Does that mean manager working in a VAT compnany or manager should hold a VAT company.

Does that mean manager working in a VAT compnany or manager should hold a VAT company. Can be working in or owning the VAT registered company, if Director.
So i am technical manager and work in a VAT registered company.. so can i be referee ?? Yes, I think that's ok.

Note that referees are rarely contacted - though UKVI could request a different one if they deem it necessary. I can't remember any adverse impacts being reported due to unsuitable referee choice.
