Convictions and Other Penalties - British Citizenship - FPN, PCN, Court Conviction

Hi there,

I am looking to apply for a British Citizenship in 2020 on the basis of getting ILR in Nov 2018. I have been a UK resident since 2008 and not once had any FPN or PCN until Nov 2018. Here is the list of my FPN/PCN, please advise if these will cause a refusal to my prospective British Citizenship application.

1. 06 Nov 2018 - FPN by Doncaster Council - Charge - FP01 - Littering in open and walking away - Paid in full - £180.

2. 29 Mar 2019 - FPN by Transport for London - Non-payment of Congestion Charge - Paid in full - £65.

3. 17 Jun 2019 - FPN by Cardiff Police for speeding - which was sent to my old address - I failed to respond as I didn't get it on my new address - so the case went to Cardiff Magistrate Court - Convicted of Speeding - SP30 - Its a non-visible motoring offence on DBS but will be visible on my Personal Criminal Record. Paid in full - £165 and got 3 points on Driving Licence.

4. 18 Jun 2019 - Parking Charge Notice by Swansea Council - paid in full - £25.

5. 19 Jul 2019 - FPN by Transport for London - Non-payment of ULEZ Charge - Paid in full - £80.

6. 20 Jul 2019 - FPN by Transport for London - Non-payment of ULEZ Charge - Paid in full - £80.

7. 23 Dec 2019 - FPN by North Yorkshire Police - Speeding on A64 - Did National Speed Awareness Course - Paid for the course.

So, as I said earlier no FPN before Nov 18, and 7 FPNs between Nov 18 to Dec 19 and none after that. My major concern is the FPN number 3 which managed to escalate to court.

Shall I wait for 3 years for that to be less impactful and all FPNs to mellow down?

What are my options? Please let me know

You should wait and apply later.

Due to Num 3 you have to wait 3 years anyways till 17 June 2022.

A fine counts as a criminal conviction and forms part of someone’s criminal record. Fines must be declared and may result in refusal if received within the last three years. Failure to declare may result in an application being refused on the grounds of deception. See Deception and Dishonesty.

Make sure you do not get any more FPN’s
