ILR BRP Card return query after BC

Post by RajaMS » Sat Nov 28, 2020 12:53 pm

Hello All,
Hope you are all doing good and safe. I’ve a question about my ILR BRP card return.
I’ve got my British Citizenship in the month of March 2020.
[My route: Tier 2 General (5years)-->ILR granted on Nov 2016 (BRP Valid from 2016 to 2024]
I’ve two dependents [Route: Tier 2- PBS dependents] last renewal was Nov 2019 valid until Nov 2022.
I’ve one child born in Oct 2019 in the UK, after I received ILR so I have applied and received British passport for the child.
For the above dependent Visa’s and the child British passport I have provided my ILR BRP card as a proof of settlement.
After I received the British Citizenship in the month of March 2020, I suppose to return the BRP card to Home office, but I did not return because as mentioned above my dependent Visa’s and the child British passport granted based on my ILR BRP.

Question:
Now I have a question: Do I really need to return the ILR BRP Card?
If yes, will there be any questions/proof about my ILRP BRP while I apply for my dependents ILR or my child British passport extension later?

Could you please help me on this question please. Many thanks in advance.

Thanks and Regards,
Raja

You should retain your ILR BRP. You should write to the department and let them know why you have retained your ILR BRP.
