Tax late declaration

Post by Orange2020 » Mon Dec 14, 2020 9:22 pm

I got ILR through 5 years Tier2 route. I am on ILR for 1 year now. I am paying my tax through PAYE for my whole stay in UK and I haven’t done any self-assessment stuff until now. Only recently I got to know that I have a tax liability for any foreign bank savings interest above a certain threshold. I had some foreign interest savings since my Tier2 visa period and badly I did not know that I should declare it to HMRC. Now I have informed this to HMRC and they may arrange me to pay it. My question is whether this would effect on a future naturalization application. Please let me know.

No. Just pay if any tax/penalty outstanding.
