Citizenship for EEA child to naturalised parent

Post by asam91 » Fri Feb 05, 2021 1:28 am

Hello Member,

I'm a bit confused and looking for some clarity here, I would be grateful if any info or advice is provided.

My story:- My son was born in Poland to polish mother & non-Eu father(While we were married). We decided to have him in Poland for support from family. we were married in 2012 in UK and our son was born in 2014.
We came back to UK when our son was 6 month old and since then he has lived here and is now in year2 reception in school. Parents divorced in 2016.
The mother EU national was granted PR in 2016 and naturalised as British citizen in July 2017. While myself an a non-Eu national was granted PR in 2017 and naturalised in dec2018. Our son was granted Eu settled status oct 2020.
My Questions are:- 1)Do we need to apply for his registration using form MN1 and pay the fees.
2)Does he qualify for a British passport straight away, both parents are naturalised citizen.
3)Can he apply based on 1 parents status or both needed (We are on good terms support
each other where possible)
4)What documents will be required in order to apply using MN1
5)Is the application fully online or do we need any other source to apply.

I thank you all in advance for clarifying on the matter. This forum has been my guidance for 7 year now and i really appreciate all the help received here.
