MN1 question

Post by LStark83 » Tue Aug 31, 2021 12:35 am

I’m hoping someone could help - I applied for U.K. citizenship for my two children (MN1 section 3(2)) back in May - I am still yet to receive a decision however my son’s Student Visa / BRP expires in a week. His new school has issued a CAS so I can apply for a new Student Visa to enable him to stay in the UK.
Will applying for a new Student Visa void his citizenship application??

No, I don’t think that an Immigration application will void a citizenship registration. However, a grant of citizenship will void his immigration leave. If he has been in the UK for at least three years with parents, then he may also be entitled to register under Section 3(5).
