Current application timelines

Post by JW2707 » Sat Dec 25, 2021 11:23 pm

Hello everyone, I applied for British citizenship soon after I turned 18, I paid and submitted in mid August and did my biometrics in late September I had some delays. Since then I didn't get any correspondence from the Home Office regarding my application. It should take around 6 months, it's been 3 months as of now with no correspondence other than a confirmation that my biometrics were sent. I sent an Email to the home office and am waiting for a response. Has anyone been in a simmilar situation as me and knows what to expect at this point? Or am I overthinking the situation. Many thanks.

You do not receive an update on your application unless UKVI require further documents or clarifications. Most applicants will receive the approval letter/email next after the application submission.

I'm in the situation. I did send an email to UKVI and asked for a clarification and they replied with the following:

You would not receive an acknowledgement as the Unique Application Number given to you at your appointment/ submission is your acknowledgement.

So, just sit tight and wait until they reply.

Fair enough, just got a bit anxious as I heard you get a confirmation letter after you apply but I got nothing. Thanks for the answer.
