Hello All,

We applied for naturalisation back in May this year and after lapse of 6 months, I started following up my MP. They in turn followed up with Home office and the MP has come back today saying that home office have said a decision on my application has been made and dispatched 28-Nov (they weren’t told if it’s positive or negative). I have not got any email or letters from either home office or Royal Mail since last week, the postal deliveries have been coming in anyways. I am getting a bit anxious, any suggestions on how I can follow up with home office please?

usually, if you don't receive an email, you receive a letter in the post. given the strike actions, this might be delayed further.

Not yet. I have written to home office. Also called my local council to see if they have got the certificates delivered, but nothing. I think the Royal Mail strikes are the reason. But the other thing puzzling me is not getting an email on the decision of application. Will keep this thread posted. Good luck with your application as well, it’s so frustrating.

So, here is an update. I didn’t hear anything back from home office (unsurprisingly), so I then called my local registry office (Hertfordshire) that would arrange a citizenship ceremony. They confirmed they have got the letter from home office today, but they cannot book me in till i get the email from
Home office with an invitation letter. I also got UKVI survey email last evening. So good news all around but the process seems broken. I am thinking it’s because of Royal Mail strikes.
To recap I applied in May this year with 2 non UK born kids after being on Tier 2 General visa for 5 years and 1 year on ILR. Was invited for IDV app and that’s what we used. Once I get the invitation, I will update that other thread.
