Naturalization application delayed more than 6 months with email notification

Yesterday I received email from HO atlas after 6 months of my naturalization application. "We aim to process all applications within 6 months from the date submitted. However, in certain circumstances this target is not possible. Following our assessment of your case, unfortunately it appears your application will not be processed within the 6 month target.


This is because your application raises exceptionally complex issues and we require further time to consider your case thoroughly and reach a decision"

Please help as to how much more delay is expected to get a decision? Has anyone received positive/negative decision following email like that above from HO? If so how long it took?

The email in itself is most likely triggered automatically once applicatiin is not decided within 6months to notifu applicants. It does not portend doom of negative decision only that your application not being attended to within 6months.
Some have received decision shortly after the email you got and some much longer so no one can tell you how quickly you will get a decision.
