Dual Resident - Break Continuous Living Requirement

Hello
We are looking at an accelerated citizenship application where one partner is British and the other partner is settled, EU.

Having contemplated a civil partnership and found it to be onerous, we thought about doing the equivalent in Belgium, which is recognized by the UK as equal to civil partnership.

In order to do so, we would need to declare residency in Belgium. I wondered if, by the act of declaring residency in Belgium, we would break the '5 year continuously living in the UK' requirement of citizenship application.

Can anyone help?

Accelerated citizenship in terms of having already met all other requirements, and being enabled to apply immediately for citizenship as a partner.

My concern is that the act of declaring dual residency would cause issues on the British citizenship application, where it must be your intention to remain in the UK etc etc.

You are not required to declare that you are resident in more than one country. There is a question on whether you would be required to spend a significant time in Belgium to become a resident there, which could affect your number of absences? Other than that I can't think of a reason why getting married abroad is an issue, as far as you provide the marriage certificate and an official translation if it's not in English.
