Citizenship Dilema

I gave a solicitor Name removed located at Address Removed, telephone number Mobile Number Removed my documents which include my Jamaican foreign expired passport, the letter that I received when I got my BRP stating that I am a permanent resident in the UK, and my life in the UK test certification on December 26, 2021. My BRP is lost I reported it. I didn't want to re-apply for the BRP because I am eligible for citizenship.

I was saving up money to pay him to do the naturalization application however, things got expensive with inflation and other daily expenses skyrocketing I decided to do the application myself. I applied for naturalization myself online in December 2023. I have been trying to contact the solicitor and he is not answering. The last communication I had from him stated that he was in Nigeria, and if it could wait. December 20th, 2023 was the last time he responded to my text. He has since not responded to my calls and texts. I have copies of all the documents. I have reported the lawyer to the law society for lack of response and holding on to my documents. I am hoping to get my documents back. The passport has all the times that I have traveled out of the UK.

I have a few questions:

* I have applied for my naturalization, but I don't have any valid ID to take to the biometrics appointment which I will be scheduling at the end of January 2024. How do I explain that to the agent at the appointment?
*Will they take the photocopied document that I have already uploaded at the biometrics appointment?

If you have self service, nothing is scanned at the appointment.

Don't know about lack of ID - you may not be able to attend the appointment then? Other members will advise further.

You do need valid ID for the biometrics appointment up to my knowledge. On the gov.uk website https://www.gov.uk/ukvcas they say you need to bring your passport or travel document. I know it's a short timeline, but can you apply for a passport? Alternatively, you can avoid attending the appointment, and your application fee will be refunded (but it may take a few months) while you retrieve your documents/get a new passport.
