Convictions in abroad.Naturalisation application for British Citizen.

Post by John1985 » Thu May 02, 2024 3:47 pm

Hi there,
I am going to apply for Naturalisation soon through 5 year route ILR . I am Indian and I was in India in 2021 and unfortunately an FIR booked on me and case settled/closed in Lok Adalat court without any fine by compromising. They took my Adhar only for ID and addres proof and they didn't know i am NRI.Since the case has been closed , do i still need to disclose this minor conviction while filling the form?
Can you someone please give me an expert advise?
Thanks
J

I would disclose it. Better safe than sorry. If this is your only offence (from what I understand you only paid a fine, it is not very clear to me what the acronyms you used mean) it won't be a problem for your good character.
