non-UK born child citizenship post ILR if one parent is British

Post by pray4all » Tue Sep 03, 2024 4:17 pm

Hi,

My wife is already British citizen since 2021 and I'm now applying for ILR along with my child (non-UK born) in the month of Nov'24 after serving 5 years on dependant visa (Tier2 general route).

Query -

I'm told that I can apply for naturalisation certificate immediately as soon as I receive ILR since wife is already British. Will my child be also eligible to apply for naturalisation -
a) immediately after ILR along with myself or
b) once I have received my naturalisation (so that both parents are now British) or
c) needs to wait for 12 months post ILR?

Thanks

Children are registered (MN1).
a) Yes, child can apply with you, i.e. add child to your application.
