Proof of residency during COVID-19 Pandemic for Citizenship

Post by Mage164 » Sun Mar 02, 2025 4:58 pm

Hi all,

I am currently gathering all evidence to apply for British Citizenship.

However there is a period between mid 2020 and Nov 2021 where I cannot find any evidence for my continued residency. I just finished University, moved back to my parents and was unemployed and it fell right in the middle of the pandemic.

The only pieces of evidence I could find were bank statements that did show some UK spending and maybe Amazon invoices under my name for a UK address.

Did anyone have a similar experience and had success with just bank statements? I genuinely cannot find any primary evidence for that period. I also want to include a written letter by my parents confirming I lived with them.

Thanks

You can request a SAR to show your entries and exits.

You can also state in a cover letter that you don't have evidence for that time period for the reasons you stated, but given the situation with the pandemic, it would have been impossible for you to travel.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.
