Passport return after MN1 3(2) approval

Hi,
My son had his MN1 application approved and received certificate of registration.

But the VFS global in Pakistan still has his Pakistani passport so not able to apply for British Passport. It is showing as stored securely in VCAS centre and the application status is showing as application submitted to UKVI. Im not able to retrieve the passport as UKVI have not released it according to VFS Global. Who do I need to contact so the passport can be collected. It has been over 1month since the application was approved.
