Non-applying dependants

Post by Amardeep » Tue Dec 16, 2025 12:02 pm

Hi Team,

We are a family of four. Our daughter was born in the UK and is already a British citizen. The remaining three family members (husband, wife, and son) currently hold Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) and are applying for British naturalisation after completing one year of ILR.

We would appreciate clarification regarding the following question on the naturalisation application form:

“Non-applying dependants: Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time?”

Given that our daughter is already a British citizen and therefore not applying for naturalisation, could you please advise whether we should select “Yes” or “No” for this question, and the reason for the correct selection?

Thank you for your guidance.

Say No, because you don't have dependants not applying that are not British citizens already, it won't matter anyway for the application.
All advice comes from personal research and experience and should not be regarded as professional opinion.
