Naturalisation Referee Form Expiration Date

Post by Chunmadim » Wed Feb 04, 2026 2:10 pm

Hi everyone,

Initially I was planning to apply for naturalisation in October and had everything ready, but I realised I miscalculated some dates and postponed my application to late February 2026.

The issue is that my referee forms were signed in October 2025 and one in July 2025. I’ve checked the nationality application guidance, but I can’t find anything about whether referee forms expire or need to be recent.

Does anyone know if there’s a time limit on referee forms? Or has anyone been in a similar situation what was the outcome of your application?
Thank you

There's no specific guidance about this.
I suggest you get new ones signed as the existing ones are/will be older than a couple of months by the time you apply.
Remember, referees could have moved, got new passports or even changed their minds, some people are nervous signing as referees
