Questiion around AN and MN1

Post by adiraian » Mon Feb 09, 2026 1:18 pm

Hi all,

I’m hoping for some advice or shared experiences.

I’m British and my wife was granted ILR on 15 August 2025. About a month later, on 11 September 2025, I applied for her naturalisation (AN) along with MN1 applications for our two children. Both children were born outside the UK, have lived here legally for over 10 years, and the applications were made under Section 3(1) within the same form (AN and MN1 one submission). Biometrics for all three applications were completed on 19 September 2025.

We haven’t heard anything since, although we recently received an email inviting us to complete a survey, which has left us a bit unsure about the current status.

My questions are:

Am I right in thinking the applications are still under consideration?

Does the Home Office send approval emails separately for each applicant? I’m slightly worried something may have been missed or deleted from the junk folder.

If approved, will the children’s certificates be sent by post, while my wife collects hers at the citizenship ceremony?

Or would my wife be expected to collect all certificates (hers and the children’s) at the ceremony?

Finally, could the survey email relate to the AN/MN1 applications, or is it more likely linked to my wife’s earlier ILR application?

Any insight or experiences would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Finally, could the survey email relate to the AN/MN1 applications, or is it more likely linked to my wife’s earlier ILR application? sometimes seeing the survey email is a sign that you will receive the approval soon but can't be sure.

Any insight or experiences would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your reply @Contorted_svy.

Now it makes me to think what would have happened if we accidently deleted, would we get a reminders to book the ceremony?

But as you mentioned it looks like still under progress though.

Thank you once again.

Accidentally deleting anything doesn't mean it automatically disappears permanently. There's a folder called Bin/Deleted files.
Have you tried checking in there?

Personally, I think you're just fretting over nothing. You're still within the 6 months service agreement.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Hello Thank you for your message,

Deleting from junk/spam will not go to bin/deleted files. But again like you mentioned we are still under 6 months, will have to wait.

Thanks again.
