Change of Address After Submission of British Naturalisation Application

Post by aa2016 » Sun Jun 21, 2026 12:17 pm

I am planning to submit my British naturalisation application next week. However, I expect to move to a new house in approximately two months.

Could you please advise whether changing my address after submitting the application would have any impact on the processing of my citizenship application?

If I move while the application is still being considered, do I need to inform the Home Office/UKVI of my new address? If so, what is the correct process and are there any other actions should I take to ensure my application is not affected?

Will any letters regarding my ceremony or other important matters be sent to my old address after I move to my new address?

Thank you for your assistance.

No impact - except if you move into a different council area you will not automatically be moved to the new council for the ceremony. You can still attend your old council's ceremony.

Note until you are actually British you are still under immigration - certainly eVisa requires address change notifications. There's a UKVI website where you can change address, here > https://www.update-my-details.homeoffic ... k/overview.

All communications go via email.
