hi there,

relating to the guideline

SECTION 3 Evidence of lawful residence during 5 [or, if the applicant is married to a BC 3] years before the date of the application:required for applications made on the basis of residence in the uk: required for all applicants


Your passports OR

Letters from employers,educational establishments or other Government Departments indicating presence in UK

please could someone clarify for me what exactly mean? thank you

it means you need to submit your passport or other documentation to prove you were in the UK during that time.

Usually a passport with an entry stamp showing the date when you arrived in the UK is enough. sometimes however for one reason or another you may not have that particular passport or you didnt get your passport stamped you may need to supply letters from work or government departments to support your claim that were physically present
