overseas birth expected to british citizen by descent

Hello All,

I was born in Sweden in 1980. My father is British, UK born, and my mother Swedish. I have dual nationality and I'm assuming the British citizenship came by descent. I've spent almost all of my life in Britain.

I have been in Spain for the last 6 years and I am pregnant. The child's father is Spanish. If I have the child here in Spain will it be eligible for British citizenship?

Any help would be appreciated.

The child will be:

• A Spanish citizen from birth.
• A Swedish citizen from birth.
• Entitled to be registered as a British citizen by descent under section 3(2) of the British Nationality Act 1981.
