Citizenship for 2 years old

Post by Good » Mon Nov 01, 2010 8:49 am

Hi,

My colleagues(partners) just got ILR based on 10 years of their lawful residency in this country. Their child was born two years ago in UK when one of them had a student visa and the other was a dependant. The child also had a dependant visa on her passport which expired in March 2010. Sice the ILR application was based on the long residence stay, the ILR could not be applied for the child. Now they are settled here, can they apply for her registeration as a british citizen straightaway or do they need to get ILR for her as well. Could not find any info on homeoffice website. Please advise.

Regards
