born before 1947?

Post by babur123 » Thu Nov 17, 2011 3:58 am

My friend's father was born in India before 1947 then he moved to Pakistan after partition. Since, he is living over there. The other day i was discussing this with my friend, would it be possible for his father to apply for British citizenship as India was under British rule before 1947? Is there any rule about it?

If that were to be possible, approx. 1/3rd of Indian & Pakistani citizens, who were born in undivided India, would be British citizens.

Answer - No.
