Post by ialacis » Wed Nov 30, 2011 9:22 pm

hi

applied for ILR 10 years basis couple of month ago....
last week i got my visa with issue date of about 10 days ago,
the quesiton is my last visa expired about 1.5 month ago ( i send my applicaiton before then and home office recieved it on time, but there was problem with payment they sent it back and I resent it again, but this time it was 2 weeks beyond the old visas expiry and lawyer said this is not a problem as HO alredy aware.... )

I am planning to apply for the citizenship in 12 month time, will this be a problem?

i got my ILR long residency ( 10 years legal stay ) , and i undrestand that I need to wait for 1 year before I can apply for british citizenship.

I have friend who claims one of the lawyers submits applicaiotn to home office after 3 month of being on ILR and can get me british citizenship, I cant see any document online in regards to the 3 month law ... ( perhaps only applies to asylum seekers? or some sort of exception?)

any of you heard of this?

thanks
