when can i apply for citizenship please.

Hello everyone,
i was introduced to this site a few days ago and i find it very helpful. thumbs up to the creators, moderators and everyone.
my question is as follows.

i entered the uk on 22nd september 2004 on a two year working holiday visa. i started working in november 2004 but i was made redundant at work in january 2006. in april 2006, i got another job and at this time i was already living with my british girlfriend and our 4months old son. unfortunately my visa expired and i couldnot leave due to the family i had established. i was controlled by immigration ay work on the 13th of january 2008 and was awaiting deportation.
on 2nd feb 2008 i made an application to be allowed to remain in the uk. after series of refusals and appeals, i was granted a two year visa as an unmarried partner of a person settled in the uk on 7th october 2009. i succesfully applied for an ILR on 20th december 2011. my question is, when can i apply for citizenship? do i wait for year or is my first time of entry into the uk going to be taken into consideration regardless of any gaps. someone help me please.

You don't need to wait for 1 year after ILR but you need the 3 years before the application to be a legal stay so I would say 6 October 2012.
