Dear All, Submitted the application today and just got a query while uploading the documents. My wife English SELT certificate was completed in 2020 and used the same for ILR. I am using the same now for naturalisation application. Can you please confirm if that is OK?

Kind Regards,

Chandrasekar

If the B1 was used for ILR it will be acceptable for naturalization.

Dear all,

I submitted naturalisation application for myself and family.Just got reminded about an answer to a question. I added my immigration details since 2016(tier2) visa and ILR. However I did come to UK in 2010 for 2weeks on a business visit for same company where I am still working. I am worried about missing to include it and that becomes my first time coming to UK with my old passport. Can someone please let me know if this will cause any issue?

Dear all,

While I am waiting for an update for my citizenship application completed biometrics on 5th Dec, unexpectedly my father is now hospitalised but I couldn't go to India because my passport is expiring in March and minimum 6months validity needed for India passport. Can someone please let me know how can I request to process my application soon?

Many Thanks

You can't.

Nothing prevents you from travelling.

Which country needs 6 months passport validity? Definitely not the uk.

Renew your Indian passport and go then. You are allowed to travel.

Of course you can - your Indian passport is not vital for British naturalisation, it's just an ID document.
Unlike ILR, naturalisation is not an immigration application, that's why you are allowed to travel!

That's great to hear thank you. Today I checked with embassy who said I can travel with expiring passport but need to renew before travelling back to India. This helps me to make a quick decision if I need to travel for any emergency. Hope it's not needed🙏

Thanks again!

It's not an issue to renew your passport, you can just send an email to UKVI to inform them of your new passport details while they process the application.
