Blackhole, I have no idea why it took so long as my husband's application was very straightforward. UKBA did not request any additional documents from us nor did they contact referees. I guess they are undertaking some random detailed checks for a small percentage of applications.

Hi Forum,

I have applied for citizenship on May4th 2011 and finally today received my approval.I have lost hope after December.I had my MP involved as well which wasnt of much help.

So the lesson is no convictions and HMRC Tax affairs in order ultimately you would receive your approval whether it's one month or one year.

hello guys, my brother has applied in may 2011 through lawyer for citizenship but he didn't get approval yet. his lawyer wrote them letter and Ho replied that the would send by the end of march 2012. but still no response..... we r worried

Has your brother contacted his MP? If not he needs to do that without delay.
