5 weeks from received by IPS to interview and printing of passport. Was expecting minimum of 6 week wait.

I have my passport interview tomorrow. Is it possible to ask them to deliver the passport to another address - one that is different from the one specified on the application form?

Yes. You need to show a valid ID proof. Wait for them to fail delivery (generally DX) and then call them back to say re-deliver to different address maybe a work address.

They wont give the documents to reception either though.

Please can you help? I had my passport interview on May 16 in Manchester. I answered most questions without any issues but there were 2 questions I was unsure of: previous store cards (I could only name 1 as it was sometime ago) and knew my mom's DOB but had to calculate how old she actually is when asked! Anyway, didn't think much of this but didn't get the usual text "passport being printed" so I phoned the Peterborough passport office and the examiner said he is awaiting a form that is due to be sent back from the Manchester interview for him to complete/ check (15-20 mins) and it could take 5 days for him to receive this form from Manchester.

I travel frequently for work and really need the passport urgently. My next trip is quite soon and would otherwise require a visa but there is insufficient time to apply. It will be 6 weeks since application was made very soon.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

All i can say no genuine person has ever failed a passport interview. It is even difficult for a fraud star to fail.

So, its been 10 Weeks Since I submitted my Passport Application and both the Durham office and the standard 0300 helpline cannot help me, infact they are always shocked when they realised how long i have been waiting for. I have written my MP who said he will be looking into it as his office has already received numerous letters to that effect. Its beyond frustration now.. I am actually finding it amusing...waiting to see how long finally it will take to get a passport, I might even set a world record in the process.

For people who do not receive their interview letters and have been waiting over 4-5 weeks, it might be useful to call 0300 222 1000 and explain the situation. Worked for me, to get an interview booked.

Till now I have received no communication and calling the helpline seems a fruitless exercise. They did call me back couple of times but were not able to give any more information than I knew , ie my application is under process.

Today they gave me the number for booking appointment but when I called that line, they said they cant book an interview unless I have a letter and interview reference number.

Any ideas, dont know whom to ask? I even send a written compliant but no luck yet.

Finally last week received a letter strangely telling me that I had not filled the online application properly and asking me to fill the enclosed form( there was nothing enclosed and finally I got a form from post office). I sent that back on Saturday and they received it on Monday. On Tuesday I was told that application has been examined and may get a letter anytime for interview.
Today received a text saying they have received my application and should take up to 6 weeks, its already more than 6 weeks now.
Called the helpline and they are more confused saying it will be examined now.

Something wrong with Durham office?
