I am due to apply MN1 for my son who was born in UK and I've ILR. I just wanted to know that if they require marriage certificate or not as my wife came to uk as my dependent and surely we provided it at that time, then we had 2 extensions together, of course she as my spouse and dependent.
So do they still require marriage certificate? ours is in Urdu and it will cost me at least £100 to get it professionally translated.
Secondly, the people who posted their applications, If you have a foreign passport, did you provide photocopies or original? If photocopies, did home office asked you to send the passport later.
I am asking all these questions so that I can send the application myself by post. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the information.......licosis wrote:If you're applying by post you should send original documents and passports. Otherwise, you can use NCS to keep your originals.
Because you're applying for your son, you only need to send his passport if he has one, you don't need to send yours.
Marriage certificate is required.
When I applied for my son, I didn't get our certificate translated. Ours is an international marriage certificate in French, even I'm not French. So, there was no English translation. On the acknowledgement letter, it's accepted as "foreign language document".
I think you need to make your application with your original marriage certificate. If they ask for translated one, you can send it later. I don't think your application will be declined for that reason. Mine is accepted.

You didn't have to have attested copies of your passport and brp but if you have done so, that's ok. for marriage cert if that's in foreign language then you'll have to get it translated (certified as I have just done mine and paid online for this service).msvayani wrote:Hi members
Tomorrow I am sending my 2 sons MN1 application. But before I send I just feed back from senior. I will appreciate very help given here.
I am sending following documents
1. Full birth certificate of both
2. Passport and BRP for elder son (younger one doesn't have any passport and BRP) I think that should be ok as both are born in UK
3. Attested copies of my my passport and BRP
4. Attested copies of my marriage contract. (Will it be accepted??)
Now I have got few queries here.
1. Is it ok to send attested passport, brp and marriage certificate copies? Or do I need to send originals.
2. Should I put 2 application is a single envelope with single fee note and only single copies of my attested documents.
3. In section 1.9 of form it ask for nationality. What should I put for my younger son as I haven't got my home country passport for him neither I applied for dependent visa as I applied for ILR shortly after his birth and whole idea was to apply direct BC once I get ILR. I have put my nationality at the moment as by origin.
Could seniors please reply.
Thanks

Hi tier1check,
I have exactly the same situation as you with more or less the same timeline. Have you had any luck ?
