Dear All,

I got my ILR in February 2012.

My children are born in UK. First one in July 2008 and has Indian passport and ILR stamp in February 2012. My Second one is born in January 2012 and does not have any passport.

My questions are:

1. Can I apply for my both children British passport?
2. If yes do I just have to fill the form for British passport or do I need to do any other procedure before?
3. How long does it normally take to get a British passport?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide information or guide me.

Thanks.

You can't apply for a British passport because they are not British yet. You will need to apply for Registration as British citizen using form MN1. See more in Citizenship FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting - Children.
The process takes about 3-4 months.

Dear Jambo,

Thanks for your response. I will fill MN1 form and submit. Is there any option of fast-track possible as you indicated that it takes 3-4 months? Only after this process is complete can I apply for British passport for my children? While this process is going on will my and my wife passport be gone for 3-4 months as well?

Regards.
