Hi,

I do have couple of queries regarding my Citizenship which are as follows:

Can I take NCS appointment at other council (other than where I am staying) ?
Can I leave Country after applying for Citizenship through NCS ? if Yes ,
after how many days I can leave the country ? Say , I am applying citizenship on 3rd-July-2012 through NCS , When can I leave the country in this case ?
Last question , For how many Months I can stay out of country after applying Citizenship ?

I had posted this question some time ago with a similar answer.

However would like to know if staying in the country for 5 working days after application submission is a mandatory requirement from Home Office?

If the application has been received when I am in the country, is it fine or is it a requirement to stay for 5 working days after the application has been submitted to NCS?

The only mandatory requirement is that you are in the UK the day the HO receives the application. NCS have added their own requirement if you want to use their service. This was done as a precaution to make sure the HO requirement is met.

Submitted the application today with NCS, and they have already put it in post with special delivery to HO, means would be delivered tomorrow.

Does that mean I am free to fly out of the country this Friday?

Have you been given a tracking number so you can verify the application has reached HO?

Didn't NCS ask you not to travel for 5 days? Didn't you sign on such declaration during the appointment?

Yes. And I checked it and the application is in post already. It should reach tomorrow.

NCS did make me sign 1 paper which had lot of questions. Like whether you were present exactly 5 yrs from today, that you have not exceeded the absence limit & you do not have any fixed penalty points in last 1 yr. The question asking whether I would be travelling in the next 5 days - note 5 days and not 5 WORKING days was there as well.

I dont recall the last sentence just before the signature, but I dont think it had anything saying this is a legal document and you would be liable if any of it is incorrect, like the way it does on the app form.

Though the lady when prodded, did mention 5 working days but its not in paper work.

So technically speaking I should be free to travel Sunday at the earliest in that case.

Also would the NCS document serve any purpose? I think its more to reduce the work of NCS case worker than anything else so they do not have to check the app in any more detail.

If it was a document to be passed on along with the app, all postal applications would need it as well.

There is no issue to travel if the application has reached the HO.

I was just curious if travel was an option, why didn't you raise your concern when you signed the document? but as I said, no issue to travel.
