Father in UK, Child in Pakistan-British Passport Application

I am trying to find out some information for some relatives and I have spent a lot of time looking at various websites but I can’t get a concrete answer so I’m asking for help from the people who have experience in this field!

My cousin (male – currently settled in the UK) got married in Pakistan a while back, he is a British passport holder (he was born in Pakistan but came over to the UK in the 80’s on his father’s Naturalisation certificate and passport). I am led to believe that citizenship by descent only passes through one generation (this is useful to know for later on).

He applied for his wife’s visa and it was refused so now he wants to apply for his child to get a British passport before he applies again for his wife’s visa.

What I can’t figure out is the process he must go through to apply for his child’s British passport and which forms must be used as I don’t believe that the child is eligible for British citizenship or is he?
My cousin has a British passport; no naturalisation certificate (never had one).

I have been looking at this website http://ukinhongkong.fco.gov.uk/en/help- ... stan#where

And is it Child form (C2) that needs to be filled in?

Any help would be appreciated..

This is the right form for a passport but only British citizens can apply for a passport and the question is whether the child is British or not.

Could you clarify the timeline again - did the grandfather naturalised as British before or after the child was born? Did the father travel on the grandfather's British passport? Is the father certain that no application has been made for the father to become British?
