Which occupation for student?

Could someone please advise on Sec 3. of the AN form for a person who is currently a full-time university student.

Sec. 3.1 (What is your occupation?) is clear -- just write "student (full-time)", and attach the enrolment letter. But then:

- What should one indicate in Sec. 3.2 (Are you...), as none of the answer boxes (An employee? A business partner? Self-employed? A director?) really matches this situation...

- Also, shall one leave blank the subsequent Sec. 3.3 (Name of employer or business), Sec. 3.4 (Address of employer or business) and 3.5 (Address of tax office)?...

Write "student". Leave the rest blank if not working.

Thanks. So, no box to tick in Sec 3.2?...

If there was (and possibly will be) a part-time employment, shall one also leave Sec.3.3-3.5 blank? Or give there the relevant details with further clarification on page 13?...

If none of the options in 3.2 matches the situation, then not ticking is the best answer.

If the applicant was recently employed, I would put the details. If this was a year ago, I wouldn't. Future employment details is not required. Employment is not a requirement for BC. It is under the good character section as the HO checks to see if your tax is in order.

Hi Jambo and senior members

I would be grateful to you if you advice me regarding employment section in AN Form.is it fine if i put my occupation as nothing?

I had a part time employment from 22nd sept 2011 till April 1st week 2012.is it ok if i write last tax reference number in tax reference section or leave it blank.

I am not working since april 2012.I am dentist by profession and I have worked in NHS Hospitals in UK from feb 2007 till july 2011.I need some equivalent exams to pass if i want to work as a dentist here.

Regards
Jaffar

What did you do when you worked part time? You can write the title as your occupation and add "(currently unemployed)".

The HO can find out your tax details even of you don't fill in this section (using your personal details from the other parts of the form).

It is OK to leave empty if you currently not working.

3.1 Maybe you can put "Dentist (but not practising since July 2011)".

3.2 Employee.

3.3, 3.4, 3.5 as you stated.

Don't worry too much about this section. Just fill in the details to the best of your understanding.
