when were you born? After 1983?

See If you were born outside the United Kingdom or a qualifying territory.

If you were born abroad after 1983, you can't transfer you British nationality to children born abroad. However, they can register as British citizen if you have lived 3 years in the UK before their birth or if the child lives 3 years in the UK, see 3.2 and 3.5.
