Can speech therapist of baby can sign for spouse as a Referee.

It would be better if the person in question (about who we know absolutely nothing) looks at the guidelines for referees to see for himself if his professional circumstances match the requirement.

you can also call UKBA. They happily advised us whether our referee was OK.
What I understood talking to them is that if the person is working in a managerial capacity in a respected (i.e public listed or well known) company; or in a professional practise, theyy are happy.
Best to give them a call if there is any doubt
