Hi, I applied for naturalisation through NCS and still awaiting final approval.

Since I applied through NCS, I do have my original documents and current passport.

I would like to travel outside the UK for a few days for holiday and am wondering if this will be a problem. because my current passport will become invalid once I become british.

So when exactly will I become british citizen? is it once I receive the approval for naturalisation letter? or after I complete my oath ceremony? or after I actually receive the british passport?

Ony asking because I dont want to get stranded on an invalid passport outside the UK.

The bc process is Only complete once u attend the ceremony and get a naturalisation certificate. Passport has nothing to do with it, it is only a form of proof to enable u to travel.

So I take it that one cannot become british citizen unless a oath ceremony has been completed.

Is it allowed to take the oath ceremony and subsequent british passport outside the UK at a diplomatic post?... even after the first approval letter for naturalisation came within the UK and that I have mentioned within that naturalisation application the location where I would like to have the oath ceremony as UK?

ONly asking because I could get an good opportunity outside the UK for a few years and dont want to miss waiting for the whole slow citizenship process to complete here. If there is a possibility then I would prefer taking the oath ceremony and applying for british passport outside the UK given the chance.
