Hi
I applied thru east ham NCS for naturalistion in Jan 2012.

Today i got a letter from UKBA asking my original passport.
Does any one come across this situation.
Is there any problem in my application.
Does they have any right to cancel my ILR ?
Pls reply. I am really disappointed after seven months wait.

In the UKBA letter they just mentioned to send my passport.

Pls help me

Sorry to hear about that. How many days you have been out of uk in last final year and total how many days you have been out of uk in five years.

I dont know why they have asked for your passport.I hope senior members comment on this.

Hope everything is fine at the end.good luck.

Why are you worried about the HO revoking your ILR? Any reason there might have been problems obtaining it?

If you meet the requirements, don't worry. Just send the passport.

Yeah, maybe there was a problem with the photocopy NCS made, and it's not quite legible.
Or you can call UKBA and ask them, since it's regarding a letter they sent to you, they will probably give you an answer.

But anyway, send your passport ASAP.

hi jambo
Thx for ur reply.

There is no problem in my ILR. After ILR i travelled twice and no problem in immigration while coming back.

The ILR application initially rejected by UKBA and got successful thru tribunal.

Thats y i am worried.

People can only speculate on why UKBA has asked for your passport. Just send it to UKBA and try calling them up to find out what it is for, if you are overly concerned.

Just a reminder: - Send your passport to UKBA via special delivery (and include a self-addressed to yourself special delivery envelop) for safe delivery of your passport

Hi Kasaman

Any updates on your application and the passport you sent 2 months ago?

I am curious because I used the same NCS Newham to apply for my naturalisation application.

Please keep us updated.

why don't you try ringing as it's been more than 6 months ( actually almost 9 or 10 months) they should be able to give you an update over the phone ?

This is normal, don't worry.
They want to make sure that you are still in the UK.

thanks

Why would they do that? Presence in the UK (and absence respectively) does not affect the application in any way, as the residence requirements are only considered up to the date of application. In case of doubt concerning the future intentions requirement they may investigate further (but not by requesting the passport back), otherwise this is hardly routine.
