Hi,
I'm bit confused by UKBA documentation about naturalisation for dependent.
CAn you please help me to verify if my understanding is correct?

Scenario
1. My wife came to UK as PBS dependent
2. I got ILR ,but since she was not here for 2 years, we applied for FLR
3. Now she is planning to apply for ILR (setm) in Oct 2012.
4. Next year I could start process of Naturalisation (June 2013) for myself

Query
1. Can my wife need to change from ILR to BC dependent to avail BC by Oct2013? (3 years after coming to UK)
2. Can she stay in PR for 5 years and apply for BC separately?

1. There is no different visa for BC dependant.
2. Yes, if she wish.

Hi jambo, thanks for that..
If one applicant meets the 5 years residence requirement but the spouse doesn’t, then once the applicant is granted BC (after the citizenship ceremony), the spouse becomes a spouse of BC and can apply for naturalisation under the 3 years residence requirements.

That sentence confuses me.. So how can we prove that she is a spouse of BC resident? (if there is no Visa or documentation) . Should i add her name into the passport?

The BC passport/naturalisation certificate + marriage certificate would do the job.

sojan wrote:Hi guys,
Just a small confusion with the documents required for spouse (single applicant) naturalisation. I'm planning to send via post & provide
1. Marriage Certificate Original
2. LIUK Original
3. Partner's Naturalisation certificate Original (british passport not present due to OCI application)
4. Indian Passport

Can't find any specific Spouse documentation. But the link say
Quote:
Evidence that you are free from immigration time restrictions
your passport showing permission to remain in the UK permanently; OR
the Home Office letter giving you permission to remain in the UK permanently.

Since it is biometric card and no passport sticker is available, Does that mean we need to provide original ILR Biometric card too?

Hi mate, couldn't find the ILR required in the last page. (The only mention about BRP is for EEA Section 4. Or may be I'm interpreting it incorrectly?)
If you can please clarify the section, that would be very helpful.

thanks in advance.

Section 4 doesn't mention BRP but it's not relevant to you any way.

You need evidence for section 5 (on page 15). If you don't have a stamp as only BRP is given now, then provide the BRP.
