Hi again,

I'm going to apply for citizenship 26 September but the lease on my rented flat expires 14 October and I know that I will not be renewing the tenancy. If I don't have a new place to live before 26 September, will it be okay to put a friend's address as my address on my application?

I assumed it would be okay but then it asks for all addresses for the last 3 years, so that must mean they will check your credit report or similar, and my friend's address obviously won't show up on there as I don't actually live there.

So is using a friend's address okay?

I think it is absolutely fine.

If you like include a cover letter explaining that you currently live at so so address but you will be moving house and that the address you have put on the form is that of your friend.

Also ask them to contact you if they have any further queries.

It's not a big problem to put your friend's address and I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the reassurance! I will definitely be including a cover letter (or I'll put something in the big box at the end of the form) if I put a friends address.
